More Information

Earwig - Can cause damage to flowers, especially Dahlias by chewing the petals. These can be trapped in upturned pots filled with straw placed on the top of supporting bamboo canes.  Each morning inspect the pots,  and any earwigs that have hidden in them can be disposed of.  A smear of vaseline around the base of the flower stalks can stop them climbing the flower stems and damaging the petals.
